Location of TIN Settings
The TIN settings can be found in: Project -> Edit -> Booking Setup
Settings and Description
- Compulsory to fill in and validate Tax Identification Number during booking creation
- Description: When this option is checked, the system requires the user to fill in and validate the purchaser TIN at the time of booking creation.
- Impact on User Flow:
- Users must input the purchaser TIN when creating a booking.
- The system will validate the TIN via integration with LHDN.
- If the TIN is invalid, users will be prompted to correct it before proceeding.
- This ensures that all new bookings have a valid TIN, reducing issues with tax compliance later.
- Compulsory to have valid Tax Identification Number before update booking to
- Description: This option requires a valid TIN before updating the booking status to "Booked and Sold" or "Sold".
- Impact on User Flow:
- Users can create bookings without initially entering a TIN.
- Before updating the booking status to "Booked and Sold" or "Sold", users must ensure the TIN is filled in and validated.
- This allows flexibility in the booking creation process but ensures compliance before finalizing the sale.
- Apply the setting above to
- All bookings
- Description: The selected TIN settings will apply to all bookings, regardless of their creation date.
- Impact on User Flow:
- All existing and new bookings must comply with the TIN settings.
- Ensures consistent application of tax compliance across the board.
- Bookings from start date
- Description: The selected TIN settings will only apply to bookings created after the specified start date.
- Impact on User Flow:
- Only bookings created after the specified date must comply with the TIN settings.
- Allows for a phased implementation, reducing immediate impact on existing bookings.
- All bookings
IMPORTANT - Purchaser ID Type
- During booking creation or adding a purchaser, if the purchaser ID type is 'Company Registration Number':
- The user is required to fill in and validate the TIN, even if the settings are off.
- If the purchaser ID type is 'Passport':
- The user is not required to fill in and validate the TIN, even if the settings are on.
- If the purchaser ID type is 'Mykad/Military/Police':
- The TIN requirement will be based on the settings.
Example Scenarios
- Compulsory to fill in and validate TIN during booking creation
- User Flow:
- User creates a booking.
- User must enter and validate TIN.
- System checks TIN via LHDN integration.
- If TIN is valid, booking proceeds.
- If TIN is invalid, the user must correct it before proceeding.
- If the purchaser ID type is 'Company Registration Number', TIN must be filled in and validated even if this setting is off.
- If the purchaser ID type is 'Passport', TIN is not required even if this setting is on.
- User Flow:
- Compulsory to have valid TIN before updating booking to "Booked and Sold" or "Sold"
- User Flow:
- User create a booking without entering TIN initially.
- Booking remains in initial status.
- Before updating to "Booked and Sold" or "Sold", user must enter and validate purchaser TIN.
- System checks TIN via LHDN integration.
- If TIN is valid, status updates are enabled.
- If TIN is invalid, the user must correct it before proceeding and an error will be prompted.
- If the purchaser ID type is 'Passport', TIN is not required even if this setting is on.

- All existing and new bookings must comply with the TIN settings.
- Ensures that all bookings, regardless of creation date, have validated TINs as per selected settings.
- If the purchaser ID type is 'Passport', TIN is not required even if this setting is on.

- Apply the setting above to Bookings from start date
- User Flow:
- Only bookings created after the specified start date must comply with the TIN settings.
- Existing bookings before the start date are not affected by the new TIN requirements.
- If the purchaser ID type is 'Passport', TIN is not required even if this setting is on.

- User creates a booking without any TIN requirements.
- Booking can proceed without entering or validating TIN.
- User updates booking status without TIN validation.
- Potential for non-compliance with tax regulations and issues in tax reporting.
- IMPORTANT: If the purchaser ID type is 'Company Registration Number', TIN must be filled in and validated regardless.
